I'm trying to confirm that the short-lived Alaska Star Airlines (one of the predecessors of Alaska Airlines) was in the process of acquiring a Consolidated Commodore flying boat in either 1942 or '43 when the aircraft caught fire and burned to the waterline on a lake in BC during a delivery flight. Any ideas on how that can be confirmed?
