Our chapter – the Carl F. Burke MBE Chapter – celebrates and promotes the history of aviation in Prince Edward Island.
We hold four meetings, two in Charlottetown and two in Summerside, each year.
Our meetings have speakers on a variety of subjects: from wartime experiences, to airport procedures, to air traffic control, we are interested in it all. We also discuss some of our recent trips, upcoming aviation events and air shows, and work on projects such as the preservation of the Argus, Tracker, and Voodoo aircraft at the Slemon Park Entry Road.
Recording the history of the province is also important, and we do that with our chapter newsletters which not only include meeting minutes, but the histories of Charlottetown and Summerside Airports and their RAF/RCAF connections. We have also produced the history of Mount Pleasant air base and that of the RCAF at Tignish.
If you want to be a part of our meetings, projects, and written histories, please contact us!
